Nature spirits in the mythology of ancient Egypt, the Hathors can be
compared with North European Nornir, the Eastern European Uri story
and the South European Fatae. When someone was born, seven of them
would gather to plan the life of the child. The Hathors were often
portrayed as the sky goddess Hathor, goddess of beauty, love,
marriage and childbirth, who often took the form a gigantic cow.
